Stephen composed the original score for Ico, a short film directed by Patricia Vidal Delgado. The film follows a post-colonial and post-digital anti-hero adrift in a city that is simultaneously strange and familiar, where he gradually moves from victim to predator and back again. The city’s own sounds merge with more performative atmospheres, which insistently torment Ico. Ico premiered at the Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival and went on to screen at over a dozen festivals worldwide, earning multiple awards including the Jury Prize for Best Short Film at the Portugal International Film Festival and Special Mentions at AIP Cinema Awards and the Short Film Festival of Faro.
